Why KISE SACCO

Built for the way the KISE community saves and grows

A co-operative is different from a bank: you are an owner, not a customer. That changes everything about how your money is treated.

01

You own it

Every member holds share capital, votes at the AGM and shares in the surplus through dividends.

02

Fair, transparent credit

Clear rates and charges shown before you apply. Borrow against your deposits, guaranteed by fellow members.

03

Your SACCO in your pocket

Check balances, request withdrawals, apply for loans and download statements from any phone.

04

Protected like a bank

Two-factor sign-in, encrypted connections, instant alerts and a tamper-proof audit trail.

The member portal

Everything you need, wherever you are

Install the KISE SACCO app on your phone straight from the sign-in page — no app store needed — and manage your membership in a few taps.

  • Live balances and statements for savings, shares, welfare and loans.
  • Deposit with M-Pesa — approve the prompt on your phone and it posts instantly.
  • Apply for loans and invite guarantors, then track every approval step.
  • Security you can see: sign-in alerts, active device list and two-factor authentication.
Trust & governance

Your money deserves serious protection.

Good governance and modern security work together, so every shilling is accounted for.

Democratic governance

Members elect the board at the Annual General Meeting. Financial statements are presented to members every year.

Double-entry accounting

Every deposit, loan and fee posts a balanced ledger entry automatically — the books cannot silently drift.

Two-factor authentication

Staff must confirm every sign-in with an authenticator app; members can switch it on in one minute.

Tamper-evident audit trail

Each action is sealed with a cryptographic hash of the one before it, so history cannot be quietly rewritten.

Separation of duties

The officer who approves a loan cannot disburse it, and nobody can approve their own expense.

Your data, protected

Handled in line with the Kenya Data Protection Act, 2019. KYC documents are never publicly accessible.

Questions

Frequently asked

Who can join KISE SACCO?

Membership is open to people who meet the qualifications in the SACCO by-laws. Apply online and our team will confirm your eligibility during verification.

How much do I need to start?

You pay a one-off registration fee of KSh 1K, build share capital to at least KSh 5K and save a minimum of KSh 2K every month.

How much can I borrow?

Most loans let you borrow a multiple of your deposits (up to 4× for some products), subject to your ability to repay and to guarantors covering the amount above your own deposits.

How do I deposit using M-Pesa?

Sign in to the member portal and choose “Deposit via M-Pesa” — you will receive a prompt on your phone to enter your M-Pesa PIN. You can also pay to the SACCO paybill using your member number as the account number.

Is my money and information safe?

The portal uses encrypted connections, two-factor authentication, automatic sign-out and instant alerts. Our staff will never ask for your password, PIN or verification code.

Can I leave the SACCO?

Yes. Give written notice and your deposits are refunded as set out in the by-laws, once any loans and guarantees are settled. Share capital is handled as the by-laws provide — usually by transfer to another member.
